C – Nationally Critical: most severely threatened, facing an immediate high risk of extinction.

E – Nationally Endangered: facing high risk of extinction in the short term.

V – Nationally Vulnerable: facing high risk of extinction in the medium term.

I – Nationally Increasing: small but increasing population still facing a risk of extinction in the medium term.

We know the lower Hollyford is an area of special significance to fungi enthusiasts with several rare species have been found here in the podocarp forest.
